The Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Natural Park includes the Loire Valley and surrounding areas between the cities of Angers and Tours. The park also includes the lower reaches of the rivers Thouet, Vienne, Indre and Cher, which flow into the Loire here. The park was established in 1996 to protect and promote the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
