Ota - Genoese bridge of Zaglia

Back and forth walk, 8 km

Route: Ota - Genoese bridge of Zaglia

Walk from Ota through the Spelunca gorge to the Pont de Zaglia.

stage 1 - forth (3 km 864)

You descend on a footpath to the valley of the Porto River. You walk a little along the river until you reach the Pianella bridge (local: Ponte-Vecchju). The bridge was built in the fifteenth century during the Genoese domination of Corsica. With the bridge you cross the Porto river.

After you have crossed the traffic road you walk on a stony path through the Spelunca gorge. The gorge has been carved by the Tavulella stream, which is one of the feeds of the Porto River. You will come to a second Genoese bridge, the Pont de Zaglia. This is the turning point of the route.

stage 2 - back (3 km 864)
