This walk follows the Way of St James Via Lemovicensis (GR654) between Pignicourt and Reims. We walk through rural areas until we arrive at the conurbation of Reims.
We start the walk at the village hall and the church of Pignicourt. We walk on country roads to Orainville. Just before the village we pass the river La Suippe. From Orainville we walk on a quiet road to Berméricourt. We walk through the village and then cross a railway. A country road parallel to the railway brings us to the village of Loivre.
We do not enter the village, but cross the Canal de l'Aisne à la Marne at a lock and immediately turn left to follow the towpath along the canal. At Courcy we pass another lock. We follow the canal to Reims. We pass the western industrial area. In some places you can see the cathedral, which towers over the city. Just before we arrive at the center of the city, we cross the canal with a footbridge. We follow the footpath under the busy Boulevard Louis Roederer, to arrive in the center via the Parc de la Patte d'Oie. We walk via the cozy Place Drouet d'Erlon to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims, where our walk ends.
