This walk follows the Way of St James Via Lemovicensis (GR654) between Rocroi and Remilly-les-Pothées. We walk alternately through rural areas and through forests.
The walk starts in Hiraumont, a hamlet just outside Rocroi. We see the fortified town in the distance. We descend to the Misère valley and follow the Murée stream for a while. Out of the valley again, we reach the village of Bourg-Fidèle.
We walk on forest paths to the dam in the Faux stream at Les Vieilles Forges. We follow the banks of the Lac des Vieilles Forges reservoir. We cross the Pont Gilles stream and a little further on we follow the Falette stream for a while. Still on forest paths we reach the edge of Rimogne. From the hills we have a view of two buildings that dominate the village, the Saint Brice church and the Puits Saint Quentin museum, the remains of a former slate quarry.
In the forest we cross the Rimogneuse stream. Reaching the road, we cross the Sormonne river and arrive in the village of Le Châtelet-sur-Sormonne. We continue the walk on country roads and quiet roads. We walk through Murtin-et-Bogny. We arrive at a railway, which we follow for a while on a narrow path. Arriving at the road, we cross the Audry river and the A304 motorway. On a country road we arrive in Remilly-les-Pothées. The walk ends at the Saint-Martin church.
