Gerolstein - Büscheich

Circular walk, 17 km

Route: Gerolstein - Büscheich

Hike on Dolomites and Dietzenley.

After a bridge over the Kyll, a climb to the Munsterley immediately follows. Via Munsterley Nord, the Buchenloch cave, the Papenkaule and with a trip for a view of the Kasselburg, to the Hustley. This area is called the Dolomites of Gerolstein because of the steep rock formations.

The route passes the Kyll again, on the way to the Heiligenstein. Hence again a view of the Kasselburg. Then a climb to Dietzenley, at 617 meters the highest point in the Gerolstein area. Then we descend to the village of Büscheich. Through the forest we pass a forest chapel. Again in Gerolstein we arrive at the ruin Burg Gerolstein / Löwenburg (1115).
