The circular hike starts in the Zechental in Stolberg. You walk up the Alte Auerbergstraße on a forest path. You will pass the Quelle Schneiderborn and the Rastplatz Wanderweg Sieben Wege and continue to the Straße der Sieben Lieder. Follow this further up the Auerberg to the Josephshöhe, where the Josephskreuz is located. This largest mountain cross in the world can be climbed.
Then you walk steeply down a path to the Holzchaussee. Follow this long forest path to the Rastplatz Holzchaussee Moorberg. From there you walk on the Schwendaer Stadtweg and the Oberen Brandweg towards Stolberg. You arrive in the town via forest paths. There you walk through the streets with half-timbered houses via the Markt back to the starting point.
