Tuili: Parco della Giara

Circular walk, 9 km

Route: Tuili: Parco della Giara

A circular walk through Parco della Giara, which is located on a table mountain. One of the sights are the Cavallini della Giara, small semi-wild horses that live there.

You walk from the parking lot across the plateau on sometimes narrow paths along cork oaks and dense maquis of rock roses and asphodel bushes. You walk until you reach Pauli Maiori, a marsh lake. You walk along the lake to the next marsh lake, Pauli Piccia. If you follow the path there for a while, you get a beautiful view from the plateau of the wide area. You walk further and you pass Cabrili Bèciu, restored remains of an old settlement with tombs. There you walk to Nuraghe Tuttiruddu. Then you make a short trip to the Chiesetta di Santa Maria Bambina. Then you walk back to the parking lot.
