From the parking lot in Echten you first walk past a sod hut. Then you walk on forest paths to the Gijsselterkoelen, a heathland with puddles. The walk continues through varied forest paths and avenues to the Echtenerzand. Here you walk through a shifting sand area and over the heath. Then you walk back to the village.
