Route: Alde Feanen: Wikelslân

Circular walk in the northeast side of De Alde Feanen National Park. This is new nature in an old area with lakes, reed lands, peat lakes, peat bog and swamp forests.

The walk starts in the village of Earnewald. You walk through the village to the Ringfeart. There you walk along the Langesleat. Then you walk into Fjirtich Mêd via a bridge. Here you walk along lakes and reed lands.

Then you walk through the Wikelslân. This is one of the purest pieces of swamp. You walk past bird watching hut Ierdige Mar and you arrive at the Earnsleat observation tower.

Here you enter the Reid om ’e Krite, an area with wet reed lands, swamps and peat lakes.

You walk on to Earnwarre and the Earnewarrepoel. Then you walk back over the Fearntersdyk to Easterwald.
