Walk on the Wadden island of Vlieland.
The walk goes through the lively Dorpstraat of Oost-Vlieland, a street with many historic buildings, shops and restaurants. After leaving the village follow the Postweg along the shore of the Wadden Sea. Where the Postweg bends off the bank, we follow another path along the bank.
With the Pad van Twintig we cross the island to arrive at the North Sea beach. We walk a little over the beach. You climb over the dune and follow the Zesduinenpad to a first side road to the right. This path leads to the dunes in the middle between the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. At high points we can see both seas from the path. We walk through a landscape with sand drifts, low vegetation, heathland and forests. The path runs over natural campsite the Lange Paal.
We walk through a pine forest and climb the Vuurboetsduin. We pass the lighthouse Vuurduin. This can be visited and if you want you can get a tour of the lighthouse keeper.
We descend from the Vuurboetsduin and return to Oost-Vlieland.
