From the village of Opeinde you walk along the Opeinder canal to De Leyen, one of the smaller Frisian lakes.
You walk along grass dikes and grass paths through the reed lands and wetlands around the lake. It is a bird-rich area.
Along the Lits you walk to the village of Eastermar. After Eastermar the walk continues through rural areas to the village of Rottevalle. From Rottevalle you walk back to Opeinde.
