You walk from the village of Kootwijk over the Kootwijkerzand. You walk along sand drifts and heathlands to Radio Kootwijk. You arrive at the building of the former broadcasting station, Building A. You walk further through the village and then to the Turfberg. The route passes the sheepfold of Hoog Buurlo. You walk through the Kootwijk forest and the Kootwijkerzand back to Kootwijk.

The walk from Hoog Buurlo to the end point at the Heetweg in Kootwijk is part of the Marskramerpad, which runs from the German Bad Bentheim to The Hague.
