Walk over dikes of De Schermer and De Beemster, through the Eilandspolder nature reserve and through the picturesque village of De Rijp.
The walk starts with a round around the Fort at Spijkerboor, part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam and managed by Natuurmonumenten. The fort is located in the De Beemster polder, a Unesco world heritage site. We cross the Ringvaart and walk around the polder Kamerhop. Then along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal and through the villages Oost-Graftdijk, West-Graftdijk and, after a walk on the Oudelandsdijkje, Driehuizen. Via the Meerdijk along Noordeinde and from there on a grass path through the nature reserve De Eilandspolder.
We arrive in De Rijp on the Oostdijkje. We walk through the center with its beautiful canal houses and past the impressive city hall. Over the Buizendijkje we return to the Fort at Spijkerboor.
