This circular walk takes you along part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, the defense line built around the capital between 1880 and 1914. The walk starts at Fort bij Veldhuis. You walk on the Sint Aagtendijk, a grass dike, and pass the secondary battery Fort bij Veldhuis. You walk on the Sint Aagtendijk and walk through a tunnel under the highway to Fort aan de Sint Aagtendijk in Beverwijk. You walk around the fort with a grass dike and then cross the highway with a viaduct.
Then you walk over the Vuurlinie (the cycle path or the grass dike) into the polder. You walk to the Zeedijk and you follow this grass dike until you arrive at the golf course and then again at the Genieweg.
NB! Between September 1 and March 1, ie outside the bird breeding season, you can walk back to the starting point on an unpaved path through the meadows instead of via the Genieweg.
