Walk through the Noordhollands Duinreservaat between Egmond-Binnen and Egmond aan Zee, through the polders northeast of Egmond-Binnen and through Egmond-Binnen.
We start the walk through the dunes at the Middenweg entrance. You walk through a varied area of dune fields, forests, sand dunes, dune lakes, mostly over loose sand paths. When Egmond aan Zee comes into view we veer towards the east to the high dune Albertsdal (38.5m). On the dune there is a viewpoint from where you can see the large church in Alkmaar, the Amsterdam harbor and the Hoogovens in IJmuiden with clear weather.
We continue through the dunes, first to the south, almost to the point where we started, then to the east to arrive at the north side of Egmond-Binnen. We first walk through a grove, then past flower fields. We walk back over pastures along the Bindervaart (former towpath) back to Egmond-Binnen. We pass the Abbey of Egmond and make a tour through the monastery garden. We walk back across the Abdijlaan to the dunes. Just before the starting point we find the Adelbertusakker on the left.
