Start the walk at the parking lot opposite restaurant "Duinvermaak" on the Breelaan in Bergen. You walk through the Bergerbos to the center of the village. You leave the village again on the Spaansepad and then on paths through the woods around the 't Oude Hof country estate. The walk continues on the Voert country road that runs through the meadows in the direction of the dunes. You cross the busy Herenweg (N511) and walk through the North Holland Dune Reserve to Bergen aan Zee. You follow the Zeeweg to the beach. You walk on the beach to De Kerf, a hole dug in 1997 by Staatsbosbeheer in the first row of dunes. During storms and high water, seawater can flow into the underlying dune valley here. You walk through the Schoorl dunes back to the parking lot in Bergen.
