Hekendorp - Haastrecht - Oudewater

A walk through the polder landscape, with a visit to the beautiful towns of Haastrecht and Oudewater.

You walk from Hekendorp over a dyke and along the Hollandsche IJssel to Haastrecht. You walk through Haastrecht and pass the De Hooge Boezem pumping station.

Then you walk to the Tiendweg. You follow this path for miles. You walk through the polder landscape to Oudewater.

You walk through Oudewater and you pass the Heksenwaag (the witch’s hedge). Then you walk past the Great or St. Michael’s Church.

From Oudewater you walk along a towpath along the Hollandse IJssel back to Hekendorp.
