Maarn - Doorn: Kaapse Bossen

Walk on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug between Maarn and Doorn.

You walk on quiet forest paths through the Kaapse Bossen. You pass the Zonheuvel estate and walk over the Huis te Maarn estate. On the Helenaheuvel you pass a restaurant: Châlet Helenaheuvel. The terrace offers a view of a small moor.

On the hill called the Doornse Kaap you can climb a 25 meter high observation tower, where you have a wide view. On a clear day you can see the cities of Amersfoort and Utrecht.

The walk goes along a number of moors and in a number of places you can see prehistoric burial mounds.
