A walk on the cliffs and beaches of the Algarve coast.

stage 1 - forth (5 km 049)

You first walk through the village of Ferragudo, which lies on the Arade River. The city of Portimão is just across the river.From Ferragudo you walk to the beach. You will pass Castelo de São João do Arade there.The walk then alternates between different beaches and cliffs.Halfway you walk along the Farol da Ponta do Mar (lighthouse). Then you pass a zinc hole (Algar).The path over the cliffs offers fantastic sea views.The walk ends at Torre de Lapa, a (probably) medieval watchtower to protect against pirates.

stage 2 - back (5 km 049)

You walk back to Ferragudo via the same route.
