From the starting point you walk to the Elevador do Lavra from 1884. With this oldest funicular in Lisbon you go up.
You first walk to the Miradouro do Jardim do Torel, where you have a nice view.
Then you walk further to Graça. There you walk past 'vilas' (residential areas with workers' houses), the' Royal Cine '(the former cinema) and you walk through the' Bairro Estrela d'Ouro '. This is a working-class neighborhood built in 1908 by philanthropist and candy manufacturer Agapito Fernandes.
You walk past the royal palace and then you walk through the Alfama district, an old quarter. Here used to be the Jewish quarter.
Then you walk to Praça do Comércio, a large square on the Tagus. You walk under the Arco da Rua Augusta and walk back to the starting point.
