Eyeworth Pond - Bramshaw Telegraph

Circular walk, 7 km

Route: Eyeworth Pond - Bramshaw Telegraph

Walk from the recreational lake Eyeworth Pond. You walk first through the forest, Eyeworth Wood, but soon you reach a large open hilly field, which you cross to Bramshaw Telegraph. Then you walk through a large oak plantation, Islands Thorns Inclosure. The oaks were planted shortly after 1852. In the forest you can find remains in the form of ramparts and ditches from Studley Castle, a hunting lodge from 1360.

Through a subsequent open heather field with hills we come again in a plantation: Amberwood Inclosure. Coming from Fritham we follow a small road back to the Eyeworth Pond.

The walk can also be started from the parking lot of Telegraph Hill or from that of Fritham.

This walk is easy to combine with the walk from Fritham along the Cadman’s Pool.
