Hiking in the Cevennes

The Cevennes is a region and a mountain range in the northeast of the administrative region of Occitanie. The mountain range is part of the Massif Central and is located in the southeastern part of the massif. Established in 1970, the Cévennes National Park encompasses most of the Cévennes region, as well as part of Causses (limestone plateaus). The park spans 117 communes and is located between the towns of Sévérac-le-Château, Mende, Nîmes, Montpellier and Millau. It ranges in height from 378 meters in the Vallée Française to 1699 meters of the Sommet de Finiels on Mont Lozère.
