You walk up the Route d'Astrau to the Col de L'Espeutiéra. Then you descend on forest trails to the river Gardon-de-Saint-Jean. There you first walk along the railway line of the Train à Vapeur des Cévennes and later along the river Le Gardon de Saint-Jean back to Saint-Jean-du-Gard.
