Hiking in the Nature reserve Fiume Ciane e Saline di Siracusa
The area around the river Ciane, from its source to its mouth in the river Anapo, near its mouth in the Ionian Sea, has been a protected natural area since 1984: "Riserva naturale orientata Fiume Ciane e Saline di Siracusa". This also includes the area around the mouth of the river Anapo, including the beaches, and the salt pan south of the mouth.
