Linear walk, 26 km

Route: Viroinval - Couvin - Rocroi

This walk follows the Way of St James Via Monastica between Olloy-sur-Viroin (Viroinval) and Rocroi. We mainly walk through forests, until it becomes more open terrain near Rocroi.

From Olloy-sur-Viroin we follow the Nouée stream, which meanders through the forest for kilometers. We pass the village of Oignies-en-Thiérache. The walk continues towards the Belgian-French border, which we cross at Brûly (Couvin, Belgium) and Gué-d'Hossus (France).

Soon we enter an area that falls under the municipality of Rocroi. We first walk through the forest, later through rural areas. After crossing the A304 motorway, we enter the built-up area of Rocroi. We continue to the star-shaped fortress, walk around it along various bastions and end at the Place d'Armes in the center of the fortress.
