Bocca à Croce - Ghjirulatu

Linear walk, 5 km

Route: Bocca à Croce - Ghjirulatu

Walk along a path along the slopes of the coastal mountains on the Gulf of Girolata. First we descend to the beach in the bay (cala) of Tuara. Then we climb to the mountain pass (bocca) Eminence, and then descend to Ghjirulatu (French: Girolata). Here we find a harbor and a long beach with eateries and stalls. At the tip of the peninsula there is an old fort with chapel and tower.

The walk follows the route of the GRP Mare e Monti. You can go back on the same path or with the Sentier du Facteur, which follows a path between Ghjirulatu and Tuara over the steep slopes, close to the coast. Trance security is required and if you suffer from fear of heights, you can better avoid this path.

At the parking lot of Bocca à Croce you will find a viewpoint with panoramic sign, where you can view the coastal mountains on the other side of the Gulf of Porto.
