Gerolstein: Dolomiten

Circular walk, 14 km

Route: Gerolstein: Dolomiten

Hike on Dolomites and Dietzenley.

After a bridge over the Kyll, a climb to the Munsterley immediately follows. Via Munsterley Nord, Buchenloch Cave, Papenkaule to Hustley. This area is called the Dolomites of Gerolstein because of the steep rock formations.

The route again passes the Kyll, on the way to the Heiligenstein. Hence a view of the Kasselburg again. Then a climb to Dietzenley, at 617 meters the highest point in the Gerolstein area. Through the forest we pass a forest chapel. Again in Gerolstein we arrive at the ruin Burg Gerolstein / Löwenburg (1115).
