Gaasp, Gein, Angstel, Holendrecht, Bullewijk

Walk along the rivers around Amsterdam Zuidoost. We start at Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena station and first walk through the Bijlmerplein shopping area. Then through the large city parks the Nelson Mandelapark (formerly Bijlmerpark) and the Gaasperpark. We follow the south bank of the Gaasperplas until we reach the Gaasp and the village of Driemond. Then we walk along the Gein to Abcoude. In Abcoude we follow the Angstel north until it flows into the Abcouderplas. We go west along the Holendrecht. With the self-service ferry we cross over to the north bank.After the Waver has joined the Holendrecht, they continue together under the name Bullewijk. We follow this until we reach the edge of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel underneath the A9. Here we take a small path that brings us to the Ouderkerkerplas. This was created by sand extraction for the construction of the Bijlmermeer district, but has now been transformed into a beautiful nature and recreation area.Via the bicycle bridge over the A9 and A2 we return to the city. Along a number of green drives we arrive at the Johan Cruijff Arena (was Amsterdam Arena) and back at the station.
