Southeast of the village of Albarracín is an area of extensive pine forests on a subsoil of red sandstone, the protected landscape "Pinares de Rodeno". You walk through the forest past spectacular rock formations of red sandstone to a location where guerrillas fighting against Franco settled and established a training camp shortly after the Second World War. The fighters were also referred to by the French term "maquis". There is a lookout near the camp.
From the Casa Forestal de Ligros you walk through the ravine Barranco de Ligros. With a path through a side ravine you climb a ridge. After a descent you arrive at a short, but narrow gorge. This gives access to the location of the encampment. Walk around here. Signs provide information about the history of the place. As you leave the camp, you will find a path on the left that leads to the lookout point.
We follow the same path back to the Casa Forestal de Ligros.
Alternative:
When you come back to the fork from the lookout point, you can also follow the sharply descending path to the left. This path ends in the ravine Barranco de Ligros, which you follow to the right until you reach the path of the way there. This route is well marked, but difficult to walk (high degree of difficulty).
