Route: Serpa

Serpa is an old town that was already known before the Roman domination of the Iberian peninsula. The Romans built a fort there, which was later also used by the Moors. In the 14th century the castle was rebuilt by King Dinis, after the reconquest of Serpa on the Moors. The historic center of the city is completely walled.
