Madriguera - Becerril

Circular walk, 12 km

Route: Madriguera - Becerril

The hike in the Sierra de Ayllón goes along the so-called ’Pueblos Rojos y Negros’ (red and black villages). The materials of the area were used in the construction of the houses. This makes every village an example of the geology of the Sierra.

The walk starts in Madiguera, a red village. You walk through the village and see the red hues of the church and of the houses.
When you walk out of the village you walk through a landscape with a red soil and red rocks.

After a while the color changes to dark gray.

You arrive at Becerril, a black village. You see the gray walls and slate roofs of the houses. Even after Becerril, the landscape keeps its gray tones. This will remain so until the red village of Madriguera comes into view again.
