Senda de los dos ríos.
A walk along two rivers: Río Caslilla and Río Duratón. The walk goes through the historic town of Sepúlveda, with remains from Roman times. You also walk along and through the gorge of the Duratón.
The hike starts at the parking lot at the Puente de Talcano.
You walk to the Río Caslilla, which you cross with the Puente de Palmarejos.You continue with a path up to the Puerta del Castro. The path goes along remains of the old wall to the Puerta de Duruelo and the Puerta del Río.
You walk through Sepúlveda and you pass the Iglesia de Santiago; the Casa del Parque is now located there. You continue on the Plaza del Trigo, with the antigua Cárcel de Sepúlveda, and on the Plaza d’España, with the Edificio del Reloj. You walk along the old wall to the Arco del Ecce Homo and walk through Calle Santos Justo Y Pastor to Plaza Campo de la Virgen with the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Peña.
The road continues behind the church to Plaza del Castón. There you have a magnificent view of the surroundings and the gorge of the Río Duratón.
Walk back to the church. Next to the church is a staircase below that leads to the Cueva de la Virgen de la Peña.
The walk continues to the Puerto de la Fuerza. The gorge of the Río Duratón runs on the right side of the road.
After Puerto de la Fuerta you walk on the remains of a Roman road to the Puente de Picazos on the Río Duratón.
You walk along the river until you go up the stairs to a raised carved path along the rock wall. You walk along this path to the Presa Fábrica de la Luz. Then you reach the Puente de Talcano and walk back to the starting point.
