Hiking in the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park

There is a wide dune area between IJmuiden and Zandvoort: the Kennemerduinen. Known since 1950 as National Park De Kennemerduinen. In 1995, the area was included in the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, which also includes the beaches, the dune edge forests and several adjacent estates. The park offers a wide variety of landscapes. The highest point is the Brederodeberg (45m), unfortunately without a view. You do have a beautiful view of the dune area on the Konijnenberg (22m) and the Hazenberg (32m). In addition to a view of the Vogelmeer, Parnassia and Zandvoort, the latter also provides a view of the Bride of Haarlem, a parabolic dune where the sand is allowed to drift again.
