This circular walk passes through a former copper mine enclave. The deserted area is reminiscent of a lunar landscape with reddish brown tones. The river that flows there is the Río Tinto, with its striking red color.
The hike starts at 'Estacíon Tren Turistíco Minero', the tourist train station that travels through the mining area. You follow the Río Tinto and walk to Zarandas, a former mine with an abandoned train station. From Zarandas you walk along the HV-5015 to the ruins of an old copper smelter. Then you walk back to the starting point.
